What is the Best Buy Affiliate Program?

The Best Buy Affiliate Program is one way for Remix API developers to earn money on their creations. If an application or web site you developed or own sends a customer to bestbuy.com and that person makes a purchase on a qualifying product, you get a percentage of the sale price of the item. The percentage varies based on the type of item.

We are able to offer the affiliate program to anyone using the Remix API through our partnership with Commission Junction. An affiliate marketing company, Commission Junction has technology that will allow you to track your bestbuy.com sales and earn commission on the bestbuy.com purchases that you generate through your links.

Quick Look at How the Affiliate Program Works

Here are the basics of how the program works.

• Best Buy makes links available to members who have signed up for and are an accepted member of the affiliate program via Commission Junction's CJ Account Manager interface. See How To Sign-Up for the Best Buy Affiliate Program,
• You place Best Buy's links on your web site or in your application. We make this easy in the API by pre-formatting the links for you and placing them in the XML, in the <cjAffiliateUrl> and <cjAffiliateAddToCartUrl>. You can also place them in email campaigns or as part of search listings.
• When users of your application click on one of these links, a cookie is set on the visitor's browser that identifies Best Buy, you and the specific link.
• The commission is based on a percentage of the qualifying bestbuy.com shipped sale. Please refer to the Best Buy Operating Agreement for commission determination details. The Best Buy Operating Agreement is agreed upon during the affiliate program sign-up process. The Agreement can be viewed on the sign-up page or on the Best Buy advertiser page in the CJ Account Manager.
• When users from your site make an actual purchase online at bestbuy.com, that transaction is tracked and recorded by Commission Junction. Upon recording the transaction, Commission Junction handles all of the collection and processing required to ensure commission payment.
